An E-Clip is a type of fastener consisting of stainless steel ring with open ends which holds components or assemblies onto a shaft or in a housing/bore when installed in a groove. Once installed the exposed part acts as a shoulder which retains the specific component or assembly. They allow rotation but prevent lateral movement. We stock two main types: internal circlip (for use inside bores) and external circlip (for use over shafts). They are both designed to be removed with special pliers (sometimes known as snap ring tools) which can be reassembled for internal or external clips.
